Coming Up Taller Award

Now known as the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Awards, The L.A.C.E.R. Afterschool Programs' arts programming was awarded the 2003 Coming Up Taller Award presented by First Lady Laura Bush at a ceremony in the White House.  The Coming Up Taller award recognizes exemplary arts and humanities programs that provide opportunities for youth to contribute to their communities through learning and practical experiences in the humanities and arts endeavors.  The Coming Up Taller Awards are a joint effort on the part of the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the National Endowments for the Arts and Humanities and the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities.
